Gloucester boss Bryan Redpath hailed his team's "outstanding" work ethic after they moved up to third in the Aviva Premiership with a 23-9 victory over London Irish.
The Kingsholm triumph was Gloucester's seventh successive win in all competitions, and they are now just two points behind second-placed Saracens, having played one game less.
Fly-half Nicky Robinson chipped in with 13 points, while No.8 Luke Narraway and flanker Akapusi Qera crossed for tries for the hosts.
"We had to be patient and not force the game tonight, and our work ethic as a team was outstanding," Redpath said. "There was great effort and commitment, especially in defence, and we were disciplined around the contact area.
"I am chuffed for the players. We had a short turnaround after the Wasps game last Sunday, and if a couple more passes had stuck in the first half we could have gone in with more of a lead."
Gloucester remain unbeaten since New Year's Day and Redpath saluted the efforts of Narraway, who is now producing the form that saw him gain England honours earlier in his career.
"He is leading the team very well, and he is doing his core basics very well," he said. "I would love to see him get a chance [with England] again."

Irish head coach Toby Booth had no complaints about the result, although he bemoaned the Exiles' inability to finish off some impressive approach work.
"It was a good tussle," he said. "But Gloucester took their chances and we didn't. Once we got into the danger zone we didn't convert what we created. Gloucester are on the up, and we are perhaps striving a little too much to make it happen. I don't think we are lacking in accuracy - we are lacking in composure."
