London Irish head coach Toby Booth has signed a new three-year contract at the Guinness Premiership club.
Booth has been with the Exiles since 2002 and was forwards coach before stepping into the head coach role in 2008 following the departure of Brian Smith. He guided the side to their first Guinness Premiership final in 2008-09, losing to Leicester in the Twickenham finale, and a sixth-placed finish this season has secured Heineken Cup qualification for the second successive year.
"I am excited about London Irish's coaching ability playing achievements and potential," commented the 40-year-old Booth who has introduced a host of talented youngsters into the Exiles set-up such as Delon Armitage, Topsy Ojo and Nick Kennedy. "We have raised the bar and will embrace the challenge to drive this team onto greater things.
"We have a team that is good enough to defeat anyone and we have some exciting new signings joining us to increase our competitiveness next season. We will compete hard for honours and earn our place amongst the best in this country and Europe."
London Irish's chief executive Andy Martin added, "I am delighted that Toby has extended his contract with us, his professionalism, dedication and tenacity are second to none. He is an outstanding example of how London Irish has been building a first class team to secure its future both on and off the field."
"I am bored of hearing 'I can't fault the effort'. Let us take that for granted and look for some quality." John Taylor writes
