Humphreys has represented Ireland at Under-19, Under-21 and 'A' level, and captained the Irish side at the Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament in Hong Kong in March 2005.
After a number of outstanding performances, Humphreys made his Ireland 'A' debut against England Saxons during the 2007 shadow Six Nations and was also selected for the Churchill Cup played later that summer.
He previously had spells with Belfast Harlequins and English Premiership side Leicester Tigers before linking up with Ulster ahead of the 2008-09 season. After helping Ulster to the Heineken Cup final in 2012, he announced a three-year deal with London Irish.
Humphreys' older brother David was a star for Ulster and Ireland, winning 72 caps between 1996 and 2005.
