Profile

Sunia Koto Vuli is veteran Fijian hooker noted for his dynamism and impressive turn of pace. Koto started out as a prop but was converted to hooker early on his career - and to great effect.

He made his Test debut in a defeat by New Zealand Maori in June 2005 before being handed his first start three weeks later, against Tonga. Koto made the Fijian No.2 jersey his own in the coming years and played a starring role in his country's fantastic run to the quarter-finals of the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France.

His form in the tournament earned him a deal with London Welsh but after two years he returned to France to link up with Narbonne.

Koto lost his place in the Fiji squad in 2009 but he was recalled in July 2011 and started the Tests against Japan and New Zealand.
