Seko Kalou Qaraniqio, or Sekonaia Kalou as he's more commonly known, is a talented athlete who has also represented Fiji in archery and netball as well as rugby.
Kalou started his career at North Otago in 2005. After helping the side win the Heartland Championship alongside compatriots Viliame Veikoso, Noa Soqeta and Waitisoni Lotawa, he moved on to Otago the following year.
It was not until 2010, though, that Kalou made his debut, earning a start in the second row in Fiji's defeat by Australia in Canberra. He impressed sufficiently to hold on to his place in the starting line-up for the subsequent Pacific Nations Cup games against Japan, Tonga and Samoa.
Kalou only featured as a replacement during the end-of-year tour of Europe but he reclaimed his place in the second row the following summer, marking his return to the side with tries in successive games, against Tonga and Samoa.
