After a high-profile switch to rugby league in 1989, Davies would later become a dual-code international with appearances for both Great Britain and Wales. Davies returned to the now professional 15-man game in 1995 with Cardiff and would claim the last of his 32 caps against England in the 1997 Five Nations. After his playing career was over Davies went on to forge a career as a respected television pundit for the BBC covering both rugby codes, in both English and his native Welsh language.
