Wyatt won his one and only England cap as a replacement for winger David Duckham during the Five Nations clash with Scotland at Murrayfield in February 1976.
He also featured in England's victory over the United States in October 1977, scoring four tries in the process, although caps were not awarded for the game. He later played for Oxford University in the 1981 Varsity Match whilst a research student and also represented the Barbarians.
He worked as Director of The Computer Channel at broadcaster BSkyB before opting for a career in politics and was elected the Labour MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey in 1997. He retained his seat in 2005 with the third smallest majority in the country - just 79 votes. During his time in Parliament, he formed the All Party Internet Group and later the All Party Communciations Group. He also served as chairman of the London 2012, the British Council and the Rugby Union groups. He opted not to stand for re-election in 2010.
