The Australia-born prop was called up to the England squad to tour South Africa in the summer of 2012 following a steady rise to prominence with Gloucester.

His promotion from the England Saxons squad followed 29 appearances for Gloucester during the 2011/12 season. The tight-head prop had joined Gloucester from Newcastle Falcons, where he began his career at the club's academy. He was a part-time grounds keeper during his time at the academy.
