O'Brien , Hawke and Honiss are senior international referees who officiated at the World Cup.O'Brien and Hawke were at the centre of controversy following their refereeing of the France - Fiji and Wales - Australia games, respectively.
More can be expected of Walsh jnr and Wise. They are both young referees, intelligent , competent and with a sympathetic understanding of what most players and spectators want from a game of rugby.
The only newcomer to the squad is Wellington referee Lyndon Bray who returned to New Zealand this year after officiating in Australia .He impressed many observers with his refereeing in the NPC.
