Leinster have announced that winger Luke Fitzgerald has penned a new one-year deal with the club and have also unveiled two new signings.
Fitzgerald has been linked with a move away from the province in the past after he spent much of last season sidelined through injury. Talks between the Irish Rugby Football Union and Fitzgerald's agent broke down with Leinster then rumoured to be offering the winger a contract despite the lack of central funding. Fitzgerald will now look to get back to his best next term although it seems likely that he will only be fit in time for 2013 rather than the start of the new season.
Leinster boss Joe Schmidt hailed Fitzgerald's re-signing saying: "We are delighted that Luke has committed to the province for another year. Luke is an outstanding talent and he has played a major role in Leinster's recent success.''
Leinster have also announced the double signing of South African lock Quinn Roux and Kiwi back Andrew Goodman with the duo signing one-year contracts. Roux arrives from the Western Province while Goodman joins from Nelson RFC.
Schmidt said of the duo: "Quinn is a physically imposing forward with a burgeoning reputation in South Africa and he will add further competitiveness to the second row alongside Leo Cullen, Damian Browne, Devin Toner and Mark Flanagan as well as our other recent signing Tom Denton. Andrew is a quality player and has been a consistent place-kicker for a number of years.
"Both players are determined to make a positive impression over the forthcoming season and we are very pleased to have secured their services.
