Lions Tour 2009

The British and Irish Lions are a unique touring side featuring the best players from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

Formerly known as the British Isles and the British Lions, the team comes together every four years to tour either Australia, New Zealand or South Africa on rotation.

Selection for the Lions is widely considered the highest accolade for players from the home nations and the captaincy a huge honour. The 2009 Lions Tour will be coached by Ian McGeechan and led by Ireland's Paul O'Connell
