Chris Jack is a New Zealand lock who has played for Canterbury, the Crusaders in the Super 14s, Sarecens in the Premiership and internationally for New Zealand.
His Test debut for the All Blacks was against Argentina on 23 June 2001 in Christchurch. With his size and athleticism, he was established as a regular in the All Blacks side, and arguably one of the top locks in the world and went on to win the 2002 New Zealand Rugby Player of the Year. It was announced on 7 June 2006 that Jack had signed a two-year contract with the newly formed Tasman Rugby Union.
Since the shock loss to France in the 2007 World Cup quarter final, Jack has not represented his nation. He spent two years with the English Premiership side Saracens after the France defeat but left controversially claiming northern hemisphere rugby was 'easy'.
In April 2009 he re-signed with the New Zealand Rugby Union until 2011 and will re-join the Crusaders after a brief spell with South Africa's Western Province in the 2009 Currie Cup.
