talkSPORT has won the rights to broadcast exclusive live UK radio coverage of next summer's British and Irish Lions tour to Australia.

The deal, secured ahead of the BBC, will see them cover all 10 games, including the tour opener against the Barbarians in Hong Kong on June 1.

The commercial station also had rights to last year's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Lions chief executive John Feehan said of the decision: "talkSPORT has become a major force in UK sports radio with proven experience in live rugby broadcasting.

"It is proper that the Lions Tour in its 125th year looks for dynamic new partners that benefit both our sponsors and fans."
