A compact but powerful and pacy player, Diggin is equally able at wing, fly-half or fullback.
He is a former England Schools and England U19s international who went on be capped by England U21s in 2005 and featured in the IRB Junior World Championships in Argentina.
He made his Northampton Saints debut in 2004-05 and earnt a first-team contract the following season and would go on to cement his place in the line-up in 2006-07 with a series of eye-catching performances.
A regular in the team throughout 2007-08 season in National League One, his strike rate was impressive with 18 tries coming in his 28 appearances and he scored at Twickenham in the final of the EDF Energy National Trophy.
After Saints' return to the topflight, Diggin found it increasingly difficult to hold down a regular first-team place with Chris Ashton and Bruce Reihana thriving on the Northampton wings.
However, he continued to be a reliable member of the squad and see his fair share of action as the Saints increasingly pushed towards the top of the Premiership under Jim Mallinder.
