Lock Carlo Antonio del Fava made his international debut for Italy in the final match of the 2004 Six Nations against Wales. Del Fava played on Italy's 2004 summer tours against Romania and Japan before playing every game of the 2005 Six Nations.
Del Fava was born in South Africa and qualifies for Italy through his Italian father. He began his club career with Natal Sharks before playing for Parma, Bourgoin and Magners League side Ulster.
A member of Italy's 2007 World Cup squad, del Fava was also a regular feature of Italy's 2008 Six Nations and autumn internationals against Australia, Argentina and the Pacific Islands.
Del Fava returned to Italy to play for Viadana before playing for newly formed Aironi for the 2010-11 season. He was a familar face during Italy's 2011 Six Nations campaign starting three of their five games and will go to the World Cup with the national side having been named in their 30-man squad for the tournament
