Prop Mike Ross has emerged as the latest injury concern for Ireland ahead of their three-Test series against New Zealand.
The Leinster tight-head was forced out of his side's 31-30 PRO12 final defeat to the Ospreys on Sunday with a hamstring injury. Initial reports suggest that he only suffered a minor tear and will be fit for the first of three Tests against the All Blacks in Auckland on June 9.
With Ulster's Tom Court already sidelined with a fractured thumb, his uncapped provincial team-mate Declan Fitzpatrick would appear to be in line for a promotion should Ross be ruled out. Ulster flanker Stephen Ferris was ruled out of the tour on Saturday with a troublesome calf injury and Leinster's Kevin McLaughlin has since been called up in his place.
Leinster flanker Sean O'Brien and prop Cian Healy are also recovering from knee and quad injuries respectively that forced them out of the PRO12 decider.
Ireland face the Barbarians in Gloucester tomorrow night and will confirm who will fill the positions left open in the 29-man party that was announced last Monday. Munster second row Paul O'Connell is certain to be added to the squad if he recovers sufficiently from a minor knee operation.
