The outbreak of mumps within the Lyon squad has prompted the postponement of a second Top 14 fixture - this weekend's meeting between Biarritz and Bayonne.
Bordeaux's scheduled meeting with Lyon on Saturday was called off after a number of the newly-promoted side's players were laid low by the illness.
The Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR) has now told Bayonne not to travel to Biarritz this weekend given that their Basque hosts played Lyon the weekend before last.
"Because of an epidemic of mumps within the Lyon squad..... the LNR has decided, as a precaution, to postpone the Biarritz v Bayonne game," the league said in a statement released on Monday.
