Profile

Winger Lesieur played 12 internationals for France between 1906 and 1912 and never finished on the winning side.

A member of the Stade Francais sides that claimed the French championship title in 1903 and 1908, Lesieur was also a national champion at 100 and 400 metres.

A graduate of the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Paris, a leading business school in the French capital, he later served as a pilot during the First World War like his fellow alumni Roland Garros.

He would later be decorated for his services during the war and was a key player in the dedication of Paris' tennis centre in the memory of his friend Garros. He died a few months short of his 100th birthday in 1985.
