Leeds Carnegie closed in on a century of points with their 21st consecutive National League One victory.

Their 10-try 66-0 demolition of strugglers Sedgley Park at Headingley lifted them to 99 points and kept them on course for an immediate return to he Guinness Premiership. Scott Armstrong and Jonny Hepworth both grabbed two tries in the rout with James Brooks landing seven conversions.

Nearest rivals Exeter stayed in touch with the leaders with their 18th victory of the season - a 29-0 victory over Plymouth Albion with Paul McKenzie notching a brace of tries that leaves them eight points adrift of the leaders. Bedford remain a distant third place after a narrow 23-17 victory over lowly Otley while Nottingham climbed to fourth spot following a thumping 44-17 win against Moseley.

At the other end of the table, Manchester's woes continued with a 40-28 reverse at the hands of Esher for whom George Lowe scored four tries. Fellow strugglers Newbury were also on the end of a mauling with London Welsh recording a 40-12 victory that saw Paul Sampson touch down twice.

In the weekend's other games, two tries from Marika Vakacegu carried Cornish Pirates to a 34-28 victory over Rotherham Titans and Jamie Miller also scored two tries as Coventry edged out Doncaster 26-20.
