Kyle Eastmond's future at Bath is in doubt after he was disciplined for walking out on his team-mates in last week's 27-20 win at Sale.
Eastwood reportedly left the game at half-time and drove home saying he had had enough of rugby union and wanted to return to rugby league, the game in which he made his name.
Eastwood, 24, switched codes in 2011 and has made good progress after a faltering start, winning two caps for England on the summer tour to Argentina..
"The situation is being dealt with," Bath's chief executive Nick Blofeld told the Times. "Kyle has been disciplined but we are also helping him in what are difficult personal circumstances for him."
Soon after the club issued a statement downplaying increasing speculation the player's time with them was at an end. "Contrary to current reports, Bath Rugby can confirm that Kyle Eastmond is still in contract with the club and is very much part of the squad.
"An incident arose at the Sale game last Friday which has led to an internal investigation, but this has been dealt with and both parties have put the matter behind them. The club will be making no further comment on this matter."
