Former Wigan star Joel Tomkins will make his debut for Saracens Storm in their Aviva A-League clash with Bath United on Monday evening.
The 24-year-old confirmed he was joining the Aviva Premiership champions in November and after becoming accustomed to the XV form of the game, will take his bow at outside centre. Saracens have tried out various options in the outside centre berth this season with the likes of Owen Farrell and Chris Wyles being played out of position. And Tomkins' introduction will provide a timely boost with the side suffering with injury problems in their backs - though this was alleviated by their short-term signing of Peter Stringer at the weekend.
In other injury news, Bath centre Ben Williams returns for their clash with Sarries in his first start in the blue, black and white of the West Country side since October. And their rivals Gloucester have received a boost with openside Andy Hazell starting for their A-League side against Wasps on Monday as he looks to accrue some game time after missing the majority of the season with a broken thumb. Lesley Vainikolo and Jonny May also start.
