Quins swoop for Fa'asavalu

Maurie Fa'asavalu has signed for Harlequins

Harlequins have bolstered their back-row options for next season with the signing of Samoan flanker Maurie Fa'asavalu. The 30-year-old joins from Super League side St. Helens, having crossed codes in 2003 to eventually be capped by England and Great Britain. Prior to that he had won seven caps in the back-row for Samoa, playing at the 2003 Rugby World Cup and starting against England in the Pool stages. "I'm very thankful for the opportunity given by Harlequins and I look forward to all the challenges it brings," he said. "I also want to thank St. Helens, sponsors and fans for the six memorable years we've been with them. Saints will be forever in our hearts." Quins have also confirmed the signings of Newcastle lock Peter Browne and former Ireland Under-20 scrum-half David Moore from Leinster. © Scrum.com
