Utility back Matt Evans competed at the 2008 Junior World Championships and played five games scoring two tries in the process. He made his international debut for Canada against Ireland in the 2008 Test. Following an impressive display in 2008-09 - Evans joined Celtic League side Newport-Gwent-Dragons in June 2010 but was released later that season. Evans will go to the 2011 World Cup having been named in Canada's 30-man squad.

On July 8th, 2011 Evans was selected as part of the 30-man Canadian squad for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.[5]
