Benetton Treviso produced battling display to beat Aironi 16-15 at the Stadio Luigi Zaffanella and complete a Magners League double over their Italian rivals.
The visitors got the better of Aironi in a close contest on Christmas Eve and a second half penalty from Treviso fly-half Chris Burton proved enough to deny the them again - robbing them of the chance to secure their first win of the season.
A try from flanker Josh Sole and a penalty from scrum-half Tito Tebaldi gave Aironi a narrow 8-6 lead at the break despite yellow cards for wing Giulio Toniolatti and lock Marco Bortolami with Treviso No.9 Tobie Botes keeping his side in touch after they too had lost fullback Brendan Williams to a yellow card.
A penalty try and the conversion from Tebaldi earliy in the second half put Aironi in control of the game but Treviso hit back with a try from lock Corniel van Zyl. The conversion from Botes brought them back within range and Burton completed the comeback from the kicking tee.
