England duo dropped for 'behavioural issues'

England duo Alice Richardson and Joanne Watmore have been omitted from the England Women's Elite Playing Squad due to behavioural issues.

Watmore and stand-off Richardson both play club rugby for Richmond and are expected to hold key roles at next year's Women's Rugby World Cup. But their places are now in jeopardy.

"Alice Richardson and Joanne Watmore have been omitted from the England Women's Elite Playing Squad (EPS) after failing to adhere to and demonstrate the behaviours expected of them in the 2012/13 season, and to which they commit to as members of the EPS," the RFU said.

"Going forward, to be reconsidered for selection both players must play Premiership rugby this coming season, and must demonstrate the high performance standards expected of them as part of the RFU's Code of Conduct. The individuals will be monitored throughout the season."
