Wallabies skipper David Pocock has been ruled out of Saturday's Bledisloe Cup clash in Auckland. Pocock will undergo surgery after suffering a right knee injury in the first-half of the Wallabies' 27-19 loss to the All Blacks in their Rugby Championship opener in Sydney last weekend. Scans and medical consultation have confirmed Robbie Deans' fears that the flanker will be out of action for a time. The surgery will take place on Tuesday, with the length of his stint on the sidelines to be determined following the procedure. Will Genia will replace Pocock as captain for next Saturday's match. The scrum-half's only other appearance as Australian captain came against the United States at last year's World Cup. "[Genia] responds to that sort of responsibility and I've got no doubt he will do so here,'' Deans said. © ESPN EMEA Ltd
