Bristol will have Ryan Jones available for the Championship play-offs after the Ospreys announced he is free to link-up with his new team-mates from Tuesday.
Jones' transfer to Bristol was announced in March but following the weekend's RaboDirect PRO12 results, the Ospreys no longer have a chance of making the play-offs which freed up Jones to join his new side with immediate effect.
Bristol take on Rotherham this weekend in the first match of a two-legged semi-final and if they get through that, they will face either London Welsh or Leeds Carnegie in the final.
They have already recruited heavily ahead of next season with David Lemi, Anthony Perenise, Matthew Morgan, Ross Rennie, Jack Lam and Dwayne Peel all arriving at the club.
