Jim Mallinder insists Courtney Lawes has not suffered a serious injury after the England lock limped off in the second half of Northampton's win over Wasps last night.

The Northampton second-row has only recently returned to action following a long injury absence and came off in the 60th minute of Saints' 24-6 win over Wasps at Franklin's Gardens. However Northampton director of rugby Mallinder said there was no problem with Lawes, adding that he was just "out on his feet".

However there was more serious news for Lawes' fellow second-row Christian Day, who was stretchered off and taken to hospital with a shin injury, which could be a break.

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young also revealed wing James Bailey was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg after being carried off on a stretcher 17 minutes into his first start for the club.
