Tom Youngs was a shock inclusion in England's 42-man squad for the three-Test tour to South Africa having never started a Aviva Premiership match in his new position of hooker before.
He used the experience in South Africa as a springboard and featured heavily for Leicester in the early stages of the 2012/13 season, leading to another international call up as he was included in the 32-man England squad for the autumn internationals. His form in the autumn led to him usurping Dylan Harley as England's No.1 hooker for the 2013 Six Nations. And his remarkable rise continued when he was chosen to represent the British & Irish Lions against Australia.
The hooker - formerly a centre - made the move into the front-row during the 2009-10 season after failing to make the desired impact in the backs. He featured predominantly in the Anglo-Welsh Cup for the Tigers with one start during the 2011-12 season.
Brother of Ben, Youngs achieved age-grade recognition with England and also featured in the Sevens team in November 2007.
