Mike Miller served as chief executive of the International Rugby Board (IRB) between 2002 and 2012, overseeing three Rugby World Cups and the introduction of Sevens as an Olympic discipline.
Prior to his work with the IRB Miller worked in the media, specifically newspapers, radio and television. He was head of sport Channel 4 UK and then controller of television at the BBC. He was also a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Sports Group Executive Bureau.
Along with his work in tandem with IRB boss Bernard Lapasset, Miller was the figurehead of Rugby World Cup Ltd, the organisation tasked with the delivery of the sport's biggest tournament. Under his guidance the Cup was awarded to Asia for the first time - the 2019 tournament in Japan - while record revenues were recorded at the 2007 staging in France.
