Gloucester recruit a Pirate

The Cornish Pirates have announced that centre Drew Locke will leave the Penzance-based club at the end of the season to take up a contract with Aviva Premiership side Gloucester. Locke took his bow for the Pirates in the 2010-11 season after arriving from the Exeter Chiefs on a dual-registration agreement. And he did enough to earn a full-time contract with the Pirates after appearing 22 times for the outfit. After a series of impressive performances for the Cornwall-based Championship side, the Pirates have now announced that he will turn out in the Premiership next term. The Pirates' CEO Rod Coward said: "Whilst at the Pirates Drew has shown himself to be a good, consistent performer and it comes as no surprise that he's attracted the interest of Premiership clubs. We wish him every success at Gloucester." While Locke has joined Gloucester, two of their centres are reportedly set for the exit door. According to The Rugby Paper, Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu has agreed terms on a deal with the Coca Cola West Red Sparks for next season and Mike Tindall is pursuing his options amid rumours that a proposed switch to Stade Francais has fallen through. © ESPN EMEA Ltd
