Biarritz back-row Lakafia was rewarded with some spectacular club form with a place in the French national side for the 2011 World Cup.
Having grown up in the Biarritz academy, Lakafia had sport in his blood being the younger brother of Pierre-Gilles Lakafia and the son of former French javelin champion Jean-Paul Lakafia. After progressing through the French age groups - scoring a hat-trick against Japan in the 2008 Junior World Championships - Lakafia was eventually rewarded with his debut for the national side in their World Cup warm-up Test against Ireland on August 13.
And following an impressive performance - he will go to the World Cup as one of two specialist No.8's in the squad.
