Ruaridh Jackson joined Glasgow Warriors on an apprentice contract in 2006, having impressed at schoolboy Sevens level with Robert Gordon's college.
An accomplished Sevens player, Jackson's early successes led to a call up for the Scotland Sevens team before his impressive form in limited appearances for Glasgow gained him a call-up to the Scotland 'A' squad.
After a fluent and free-flowing display against Bath in the 2008-09 Heineken Cup, Jackson was one of two uncapped players drafted in to Frank Hadden's Scotland squad for the 2009 Six Nations.
He has featured in various extended squads since, and finally won his first cap against New Zealand in November 2010. After sharing the fly-half duties with Dan Parks at international, he was increasingly favoured towards the end of the 2011 Six Nations and was selected in Scotland's provisional squad for the World Cup in New Zealand.
